Can you cut dry bricks in masonry?
Be aware that bricks can be cut dry or wet in masonry. Cutting dry bricks may be faster but will create lots of dust. Decrease dust by wetting bricks in water before cutting them. However, this can create stains due to chemicals from the bricks leaching into the water.
There are several methods of cutting out a brick for removal. You can put a masonry blade on your circular saw, for example, or use an angle grinder. Or, a reciprocating saw with a masonry cutting blade can also do the trick.
Warnings Always wear gloves and protective goggles when cutting bricks. Wear a dust mask when using a power saw. Be aware that bricks can be cut dry or wet in masonry. Do not hammer the chisel directly to the top or with great force when making the groove.
