Will grout stain marble tile?
The edges of the tile are much more absorbent and if the grout color is dark, then the dark water from the grout will absorb into the edges of the tile and create a “picture frame” stain . At least not into the face of the marble tile.

It’s a nice looking splash. Not grouting a mock up prior was your only mistake. Sounds like you did everything else correctly.
